Has anyone here used Novabrik? I was thinking about it for the front of the workshop that I am building. I like the mortarless look and the DIY aspect of it, and the price initially seemed reasonable and competitive with "real brick."
However, after pricing the "details" like starter strips and screws and trim pieces, the price over doubled. ($104 just for their "special" screws to attach 116 square feet of brick! I only need a few hundred, but they are only sold in buckets of 2000) They look similar to Tapcon screws - but no warranty unless you use their screws, etc...)
Also, this is brick "siding." What about the affects on the structure of having the brick "hang" on the wall?" They weigh 4.3 lbs each, and I need over 600 to cover the wall. That is a lot of weight, whereas traditional brick would lay on the concrete foundation/ footing. Novabrik, of course says no problem, but I hat to put over a ton of brick on my front wall.The wall is 26' x 7'6" with 8'x7' overhead door, 30 pedestrian door and 30x50 window, so there isn't a lot of surface area to cover.DIY Novabrik materials price $1184.20
